Babydoll Southdown wool usually feels more comfortable than other types of wool, next to the skin because the micron counts are generally being between 23 and 29. I have not had my wool's micron count officially tested but my 4-year-old grandson wears the scarf I knit him from 100% Babydoll Southdown wool and he loves it and never complains of any itchiness. It is considered to be some of the finest wool of the British breeds.
